42% of pregnancies in the United States are unintended. Unintended pregnancies are associated with increased risk of adverse maternal and infant outcomes.

Risk Factors

Unintended pregnancy: higher rates among patients ages 18 to 24 years and >40 years, unmarried patients, patients with less than a college education, and minority groups
